Unearthed: An Exploration of the Gems in the Smithsonian’s Collection by Sophie Graves

This project is an exploration of the gemstones in the National Museum of Natural History’s Gems & Minerals Collection, in four main parts. First, the information about gems and background of the collection itself. Second, an exploration of the colors of gemstones in the collection, explorable through type of gemstone. Third, an exploration of the origins of gemstones in the collection, explorable through type of gemstone & color of gemstone. Fourth, highlights from the collection, including information and statistics about notable pieces.
