Decoding Conflict by Jeremy Odell
This project seeks to allow users to explore the National Museum of American History’s expansive wartime propaganda poster collection. Composed of three groupings of over 6,000 wartime posters, this visualization is highly interactive, allowing users to zoom and pan the camera with their mouse, as well as showing additional information about their selected posters. The textual metadata of this collection is a dataset in and of itself, providing detailed image descriptions as well as topical tags. Using this data, the user is also able to filter displayed posters by certain highly occurring descriptive words.
