A Growing Whirlpool: Conservation Status of Avian Species by Zhibang Jiang

Nowadays, many bird populations are declining worldwide. Some of these species have not been sighted for many years and may already have succumbed. We introduced the image of a whirlpool as a metaphor in the natural world to simulate the course of extinction. Each data point in this visualization is not just a datum but lives that are moving away from us.
