Mexican Folk Music by Tiffany France

When brainstorming ideas for this project, I searched the stacks of Smithsonian collections for Mexican related entries. Many of the results were music related. When I followed the source of the entries, I found Folkways Recording - a collection of world music and sounds. This project displays popular songs from Mexico in an auditory tour through the country by genre. The visualization is built using D3 and wavsurfer.js, with a special emphasis on quality scrollytelling techniques.
